Hello Families
I hope you are all well. I have not been especially well at all this week with Influenza A, apparently it is incredibly prevalent, presently. Usually in the newsletter I like to share some faith with you, whether that be a meaningful prayer, or scripture that has spoken loudly to me, but today I would like to share a God Incidence in my life in the last few days.
On Monday I went home from school sick at lunchtime and basically slept through to the next day. When I woke up I simply had no energy and a terrible chest infection. I really could hardly move and then on top of that it was cold and wet outside and the big fire had gone out, and there was no food in the house (not that I could have made anything anyway-we had been away for the weekend). All in all, I was really quite low and my husband wasn't home and there was noone to help me. I felt very sick and actually very much alone. Then as I recalled my encouraging words that I often give to others, I asked myself how are you going to action your way out of this? So I rang my husband, who didn't pick up, but I left a message and actually cried on the phone (I later learnt that he was on his way home and was only 40 mins off).
And right then at certainly my lowest and sickest point, I heard the back door open and one of my sons walked in and asked 'Are you ok Mum?' And all I could do was cry. My son had just popped in for a visit and I asked him why and he said he didn't know he just did. (actually he was on the way to footy training and probably just wanted to waste a bit of time). He lit the fire and collected my husband from the train and they came home with food and my husband looked after me.
The reason I share this story is to say that I truly believe that God sends us people in our lives to help and support us, especially when we really need it. I believe on Tuesday night that my son so unexpectedly calling in, was very much a God Incidence in my life. Of course the next day I explained this to him (who by his own words doesn't really believe in this God business), but his reaction to my grattitude, was 'Happy to help you Mum'.
There's no doubt that we could just say his visit was a bit of good luck for me, but viewed through the lens of my faith, I can tell you categorically that I believe that this was a God Incidence in my life that I will never forget. I'd like to encourage you too, to see the God Incidences in your life, as I know that they happen every single day to lots and lots of people, for example everytime a baby is born, everytime we genuinely help someone else for the sake of helping them, every act of kindness.
Where do you see God?
